Enchant your garden with this beautiful mix of yellow and blue Columbine (Aquilegia) seeds! This packet features seeds harvested from striking, unique varieties: a cheerful spurred bright yellow variety and a classic, elegant soft blue-and-white bicolor selection (as seen in the parent plant reference photos).
Columbines are whimsical, delicate-looking but incredibly hardy perennials. Their unique, double-layered nodding petals resemble fairy lanterns and are an absolute favorite for early-season hummingbirds, bumblebees, and butterflies!

• Quantity: 100+ seeds per pack (measured by weight)

🌱 GROWING & CARE INSTRUCTIONS:
Columbines look spectacular in cottage gardens, woodland borders, shaded beds, or rock gardens.
• Sunlight: Part shade to filtered shade is ideal. They thrive beautifully under tree canopies or on the shaded side of a house, though they can handle full sun in cooler coastal climates.
• Soil: Well-draining, moist, and relatively rich soil. They do not like sitting in heavy, soggy mud.
• Sowing (Cold Stratification Hint): Columbine seeds germinate best after a cold period. For effortless results, sow them directly outdoors in late fall or winter, and nature will handle the cold treatment for you! Alternatively, mix seeds with a damp paper towel in a sealed baggie and place them in the refrigerator for 3–4 weeks before sowing in spring.
• Sowing Depth: Surface-sow or barely press them into the soil (about 1/8 inch deep). Do not bury them completely, as the seeds require light to trigger germination! Keep the soil surface misted and moist until they sprout.
• Spacing: Space or thin seedlings about 12–18 inches apart.
• Life Cycle: Hardy perennial. They spend their first year establishing a lovely mound of clover-like foliage and burst into full, elegant bloom every spring starting the second year. They will gently self-seed over time to establish a beautiful, permanent colony!
